I thought it might be interesting and probably amusing to look at the history of my site.
First Layout
Yup this is what my site looked like in the very begining.
It was using a theme in Front Page. Thankfully it only stayed like this for a few weeks.
Though I did like it at first.
Purple Dragon Layout
I made this layout from a background I found on another site and the wee dragon that I adopted from the Wizard's Quest.
I liked the idea of the dragon, who was called Serin Songfoot, showing everyone around the site. This layout stayed up from May 2003 to about December 2003.
Blue Dragon Layout
This layout was when I got started with proper web design.
Instead of using Front Page I coded this one myself using style sheets and div layers.
I also made the background this time using a tube from another site for the dragon.
I really liked this layout, in fact I still do. This stay up from December 2003 to May 2004.
Prisoner of Azkaban Layout
This layout was made to celebrate my site being a year old and the Prisoner of Azkaban coming out. It was up from May 2004 till August 2004
and it was my first Photoshop layout. I really liked this layout to start with but I found it got a bit boring.
New Zealand Layout
I made this layout after our holiday in New Zealand. It uses photos from our holiday. This was the first time I used a different font rather that Kristen ICT
and I think this helps to make the site look more professional. This layout went up in August 2004.
Rivendell Layout
This layout had a very autumny feel to it what with the browns and golds and the leaves. The picture was actually quite simple but I changed it's colour a bit and added the brushes.
I really liked this layout. It was up from the start of October until the end of November 2004.
Harry Potter Christmas Layout
I made this layout to celebrate Christmas so I made it red, snowy and with stars. I think the colours are lovely though I don't usually like red. The only problem with this layout was that it made everyone think that I wanted Harry and Hermione to get together. It was up in December 2004.
Eowyn Layout
This layout was up in January 2005 and was the last layout before I moved to my own webspace, therefore it was up until the end of Febuary. The first version I made of this layout had a brighter pink background colour but after a few days I realised it was hurting my eyes.
The pastel blues and pinks here represent a winter sunset.
Hobbits Layout
My hobbits layout was one of the first skins I made when I moved to my own webspace. I was in a hurry to have several skins so I don't think I put enough effort into this one. The pictures are nice but it's really nothing special. This was up as a choice of skin from the start of March 2005 to the start of Semptember
Johnny Layout
With this skin I finally gave into temptation and created a layout of Johnny Depp. I like this one even if I'm not entirly sure I should have given him such a red face. I like the simplicity of this skin with the white background and it's a different style from most of my earlier work. It was up a week after the hobbit skin and stayed up until the end of November.
